Reunion Information

 Updated Reunion Information (9/26/08)

Update 9/25:  The Crowne Plaza may still have rooms available, but our guaranteed rate no longer applies.  Call 918-560-2218 to access the hotel directly.

Friday, October 3rd

6:00 – 8:00:       Check In for those who Pre-registered – High School Cafeteria
This is the check in location for those who have already registered for the Reunion. You will pick up your Tiger Gift Bag, Reunion Packet, pre-ordered football game tickets, pre-ordered tickets for Pride box dinner, and pre-ordered t-shirts. You will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for the Saturday evening Wii and Rock Band. This is not the “hang out” place – head to the tailgate area to catch up with your class.
Current students will be available between 6 and 8 to give tours of the school.
The tailgate area is a “first come, first served” deal. We will be arriving early to claim a good spot, but can’t give you any specifics now. Come to the cafeteria, and we will give you directions.   We will have a Reunion Banner at the tent.
Classmates who want to pay the “at the door” registration can also do so at the cafeteria. Cash or check will be accepted. No credit cards for registrations or purchases over the weekend.
6:00 – End of Game:      Tailgating at the Stadium Parking Lot
We don’t know exactly where yet, but this will be the congregation point for the class. We won’t have any food or drink here, so if you haven’t ordered a dinner from the Pride, then you will need to bring your own dinner/drink or buy something at the concession stands.
Look for the banner, or check in at the cafeteria for directions. The School Tour Guides available in the cafeteria can also get you here.

Remember you will be on school grounds which means strictly water and sodas.  (had to say it.... now you are on your own).

UPDATE 9/25:   All tickets must be prepurchased; if you want us to buy your tickets for pickup at the cafeteria, order by midnight, Friday, September 26th.

End of Game ‘til End of Night:     After Game at Fox and Hound, Northeast corner of 71st and Garnett
Fox and Hound is reserved for us. Food and drinks are on your own.
Saturday, October 4th
Your Registration Packet will have options for you during the day. Discounted tickets to the Tulsa Zoo and the Tulsa Aquarium are included in your packet. You also might choose one of the mini-reunions scheduled for this morning or afternoon (details to be provided as we receive them). You also might choose golf (see below). The Tulsa State Fair is also an option. Alternatively, you might choose to recuperate from last night or rest up for tonight!
If you are staying at the Crowne and don’t arrive until today, please let us know and we will have your registration materials will be at check in for you.
If you are staying somewhere else in Downtown Tulsa, please let us know and we will try to get your packet to your hotel for pickup at check in as well (no promises, but we will try)!
Remember you can use the Message Forum on the website to let others know what you are planning to do so that others can join you. This is your day to explore.

Feeling like you need to work off last night's excess?  Try the Tulsa Zoo Run (5k, 10k, or 1 mile...good for the whole family)

7:00p – 1:00a    Reunion Party, Capellas (aka Blank Slate), 230 East 1st Street, Tulsa (1st and Detroit)
For those who have already checked in, be sure to wear your nametag tonight. This is your entry badge to the party. You will enter the venue from the Detroit side.
For those who haven’t yet picked up their registration packet, you can do so here.
For classmates that did not register, you can do so at the door for $75/person. Cash or check only.
You can also purchase additional raffle tickets at the check in table tonight. Cash or check only.
The Reunion location has two rooms connected by a common area. Bars will be open in both rooms, and drink specials will be running. Water and sodas will be provided. Food will be in the common area. This is not intended to be a full dinner, but the food should be sufficient to keep you energized all night. We would recommend eating a "little something" before you come. The larger room will feature Mike Chasteen spinning and the Wii Rock Band contests. Brent Ford will also be enlivening the atmosphere. The other room is perfect for catching up with friends. It should be a little quieter and a place to relax when you need a break from the dancing.
Special activities during the evening will be Class Awards (a ballot will be in your Registration Packet, be sure to bring it tonight), raffle of the Wii and Rock Band, and wine pull. The Class DVD will also be playing in both rooms during the evening. Each classmate will have a copy of the DVD to take home.
Things to Know:
Two photographers will be with us both Friday and Saturday. All the pictures will be uploaded to an online ordering service so that prints of the festivities are reasonably priced. Details will be included in the registration materials as well as on the website following the reunion.
The T-Town Trolley makes a stop closeby and has a scheduled stop at the Crowne Plaza. We are encouraging classmates to use a taxi or the trolley service for the Saturday evening event. Taxi numbers will be posted so that classmates don’t feel they have to drive ANYWHERE.
A final wrap up meeting will be November 15th, location TBA. At this meeting we will review the reunion and note things to keep/things to change for the 25th. Additionally, we will review the budget and any remaining monies and make a decision about what to do with any remaining funds. For out of towners, a survey will be available on the website and information will be posted.

Many classmates have offered to help with check-in, set up, and take down. Information on these aspects of the reunion will be posted separately.

Angela Holder is organizing a Pride reunion to watch historic video of the Pride and watch the current Pride practice.  This mini-reunion will take place at the Band Room.  See developing details below.  Please email Angie if you are interested in participating and/or helping with this event.

There has also been discussion about a mini-Reunion for Tennis and Speech teams.  If you are interested in organizing a mini-Reunion, please let Deanne know.  Information can be posted here to update the class.

Questions or comments? We are interested in your input!
So you are staying a little longer....What to do?

If you wanted to travel a bit, there are several art exhibits showing in Oklahoma during the Reunion:

Field, Forest, and Stream:  Oklahomans and the Outdoors - Oklahoma History Center, Oklahoma City

Simply Red:  A Fashion Statement - Oklahoma History Center, Oklahoma City

Roman Art on loan from the Louvre - Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Oklahoma City

If you haven't been to the Oklahoma CIty National Memorial in Oklahoma City, you should go.

Your kids will love Woolaroc as much as you did.  A nice easy 45 minute drive from Tulsa.

Pride Watch Party and Reunion Details

The Pride Watch Party will be Sat. Oct. 4th at 1:30 pm in the band room (Building J) we will be watching DVD's of past performances and competitions and you will be able to purchase copies of the DVD's for $5.00 from Travis Brown. Refreshments will be served (if anyone wants to volunteer to help with refreshments they can contact Angela.)

We have invited Mr. Grass, Mr. Brooks and Mr. Stout to join us as well as the current director of music Scott Tomlinson and Darren Davis. Many of the current Pride members will be there as well. The Pride will begin rehearsal that evening at 5:00 pm and we have been invited to stay and watch as much of the rehearsal as possible. The Pride is trying to raise money to go to the Rose Bowl and current Pride members will be coming to our tent at the Homecoming game and to our watch party on Sat. to sell wristbands for that cause.

An alumni person will be there to get current information and addresses from us so that we can be in the loop and if we so desire help with future fundraisers by the band. Be sure to bring any and all pictures and memorabilia to share we want as many former Pride members to come as possible but non Pride members are invited as well...the more the merrier! If anyone has any questions, concerns or suggestions on how to make this get together even better please contact Angela.

Update 9/25:  Angie is working with the Pride to see if Pride alumni can get on the field at the pregame performance.  Watch here for details!
